Editor Module For DESCENT TO UNDERMOUNTAIN
Created by Ken Baker w/Universal Game Editor 1.0

Welcome to Battlespire, now with this editing module you just
might have a chance!

At this time (Jan. 30, 1998) my web site URL is:
http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/2460

Here I plan on having UGE modules that I create and modules
from other people. I am also distributing via email to reputable game
hint/cheat/file sites. I currently charge no fee for my modules (this
could change in the future to something like $5 to $10 each ---> I'm not
sure), but I do ask that you register UGE. Jack Hartman put a lot into it,
and it's a great tool for gamers and for someone like me that doesn't want
to sit around waiting for someone to actually write a full fledged editor
program for a game.

RULE #1. You must first create a character with the game, then
save the game (play first if you want, but you'll need this editor
eventually). For reference, the save games are saved in the directory
c:\intrplay\dtu (this is the default, adjust this if you placed the game
elsewhere during INSTALL). DO NOT EDIT THE FILES FOUND IN THE "save"
sub-directory. The save game files you need to edit are called and
correspond to the following:

          Slot #1 ---- sg0.sg
          Slot #2 ---- sg1.sg
          Slot #3 ---- sg2.sg
          Slot #4 ---- sg3.sg
          Slot #5 ---- sg4.sg
          Slot #6 ---- sg5.sg
          Slot #7 ---- sg6.sg
          Slot #8 ---- sg7.sg
          Slot #9 ---- sg8.sg
          Slot #10 --- sg9.sg

How to use the module:

Unzip the contents of the .zip file into your UGE directory.

Fire up U.G.E., of course. Follow the instructions with UGE on how
to setup UGE to edit a data file.

Every time you edit your character be sure you put all values in
twice, all data is stored in multiple locations within the data file. This
is the way it MUST be done. Better than nothing though, eh...

INVENTORY EDITING IS NOT SUPPORTED IN THIS MODULE. I will soon
release another module (dtuitems.zip) which will be an inventory item editor
and may have further spell manipulation capabilities (this may just be the
ability to give yourself Mage Spell Scrolls)... Look for it soon on my
web site!!!

	****************
	*MAXIMUM VALUES*
	****************
To my knowledge the following are maximum values:
Attributes (such as STRENGTH and INTELLIGENCE)............25 each
Spells (Cleric and Mage)..................................99 each
Thieving Skills (such as HIDE IN SHADOWS).................95% each
HP (Health)......................................Untested, assume 65,535
Gold......................................................Untested
Experience (per Class)....................................Untested

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's about it for this module. It is the second one I've actually
put together, since Overkill has temporarily disappeared (due to a GOOD job)
it looks like I've gotta do my own!!! I hope you find it usefull. Maybe if
response is good, and I feel like people appreciate the modules I'll make
more. E-mail any comments, questions, or whatever to me at
kwbaker@hotmail.com.

PLEASE...limit requests. Special requests may necessitate small fee.

Keep in mind not every game is editable, AND I don't buy every game on the
market.
